Our training philosophy focuses on developing fit athletes. As the sport of CrossFit continues to evolve, the ability to move well and fast across all modalities continues to be rewarded. Long gone are the days of performing well on one or two workouts and being average on the rest. The competition is so much tougher now and athletes lacking well-rounded fitness are quickly exposed.
So what does this mean for our programming? We focus on developing strength, speed, power, stamina, and endurance. We need these in equal portions and we need to be able to move effectively from one to the other. Our athletes have to move load for weight, reps and speed. Not only are strength and power critical but technique needs to be flawless and refined. Our programming develops these capabilities.
Peak by Athletic also incorporates gymnastics, plyometrics, track work or a mix of them. We need to be fit enough to sustain work across various time domains and we need to be able to recover quickly and effectively. How we develop our energy systems is key and our focus is to nourish these in concert with one another.
We also believe that nutrition, proper rest and how our mind visualises our purpose, training, competition and life are of critical importance as to how we develop as athletes. So we give this a strong focus. Importantly, we do recognise that for many of our athletes, CrossFit is not a full time career. So we ensure that we can train effectively and competitively and balance life as well.
